: trees!


Here are some forests I made via maya paint effects. Most likely this foliage layer will need to be rendered as a separate pass using maya software.
oh - look a flock of birds! how did they get in there?








notes for myself: (non CADA-friends you can look away now)
antialiasing for animation:
-- render settings >> paint effects rendering options >> oversample
brush type: mesh
lighting: real lights
fakeShadow: off
castShadows: on
filter size (for depthmap on light): 2
use brush profile >> width && tube >> num per step to adjust density and shape of clumps.

And thank you Santosh! for cluing me on the fact that the paint effects strokes can be reduced to just curves so that my viewport doesn't freeze.
