Title: “Migration Path”

Thesis Statement:

An ancient tortoise of unbelievable scale rises from the sea and lumbers toward an unsuspecting city harbor – following a path that’s as old as the planet. The objective is to create the experience of witnessing an incredible event while filling the viewer with a sense of wonder or privilege of being there. This thesis project will focus on visual effects techniques to mimic the force and calamity caused by the interaction of such a large mass with its environment. The end result should be believable both from a physics standpoint and look convincingly real enough that the events unfolded “could” happen.
